The first day.

Sleepless nights, studying the dark tendencies that we are trying to protect the world against. every dark thought is a moment closer to becoming that which we can’t. darkness envelops in the pursuit of knowledge, every thought, every formation of logic a further tip of the scales into oblivion. we are the gray area. we are the shadows. we don’t exist, yet we are everywhere.

teetering on the edge of sanity, over looking an ocean of madness. its a careful balancing act… whispers carried along the breeze, calling out to us. tempting us with dreams and lies. pulling us closer to the waves with each sweet promise and lie… willpower and resolve pull us back, and is the only thing we have preventing us from becoming polar opposites of our aspirations.

we must resist.

we are all that they have.

we are everything and we are nothing.

Prelude

The first day.

It was a beautiful day.  Sunny and bright, a soft breeze billowing lazily across the field, and not a cloud in the sky.  We were strangers, yet united by the voice that whispered to each of us.  The scream in the place that there is no sound, the voice that can only be heard in the depths of the deepest silence.  I listened to her, the beauty of fate’s voice tinged with a lingering sweetness that most people would die for.   Slowly, I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath.
And then it happened.

Still in our stances, we stood silent across the field, a formality that we knew was driven by the unknown, an uneasy ritual that our bodies were forced into partaking of, like chess pieces, still on the board. We were in the midst of our enemies, only we didn’t know what made them enemies. They looked like us, yet weren’t the same.  Nobody showed any sign of emotion, not even a blink. I couldn’t figure out what we were doing in this place that time forgot, but knew that this would be the last time that we would be gathered here.  From here on, the formalities would cease, and we would chase our destinies.

This was the beginning of our end.

Consolidation

I’m going to start consolidating my Facebook and Myspace blog entries into WordPress.  The posts that are actual dreams will be tagged dream, of course.

Some of the posts may appear out of order, and the reason is I did not write everything in chronological order.

Since I no longer modify net books, I am using this blog to post rough drafts and ideas of sections for the book I am writing titled the Knights of Cygna.  The hard copies are saved on my computer, and will eventually be published on-line for free.

The word Cygna has several meanings, both actual and crafted.

  • Part of the name of a star system, Tau Cygna in Star Trek.  Tau Cygna V is also the name of a planet in that system.
  • Taken from Lady Cygna, one of the main characters of the classic PC game Loom.
  • The name of a plant, Hakea Cygna, native to Australia.

Contrary to popular belief the name Cygna is not the gender specific of Cygnus, which is Latin for “swan,”  since the word does not exist in Latin. It is a homophone for Cigna, a healthcare company as well as Sygna, a Norwegian vessel that was beached.  In the way that I use it, it was not an actual, recognized word until Hakea Cygna bore the name.
